We're skipping the Thanksgiving background and going straight to Christmas!
This year I've been so excited for christmas and I'm not sure why.
We are doing things a little bit differently this year. For family rotations we've flip flopped, so we are with my family for Christmas. Carissa & Ryan will probably stay in Boise, with their new baby, and because my parents are empty nesters (and its driving them crazy) they are coming to my house!! YEAH! I'm hoping that on Chirstmas day Carissa and Ryan will atleast come down to Bliss for dinner. :) I'm really excited to decorate my house. I've already started finding lots of ideas on pinterest :). (A new obsession of mine)
With David's family, Shirley is having everyone help out with the 12 days of christmas; which I'm really excited about. The night after she told me I just couldnt stop thinking about it and within 48 hrs I had our day for the 12 days all planned out. I'm so excited for it :). Our theme this year is Believe.
The counting is officially on! :)

One crazy Summer!
One post is the result of my one crazy summer. It all started in July when I finally decided to get the small bump on my arm removed because I finally was just so embarrased by it. After being told by the dermatoligist that he was 99% sure it was nothing, I was diagnosed with Skin Cancer. (Atypical Spitzoid Tumor to be exact) Can you say complete 180! Next I was refered to a Surgeon because they wanted to take a bigger sample out of my arm. Basically go dipper and wider to make sure that everything was gone. So a few days later I went into surgery. They went wider and deeper and took out 4 lymnoids out of my armpit. (Lymnoids are like a container full of white blood cells that attract the bacteria in your body) All I can say is that I love meds! :) I was going to post some pictures but I cant get them off my phone. Sorry.
After about 4 days my results came back with great news. The cancer/ tumor hadn't drained to any of my lymnoids so chances that its anywhere else are slim. However the doctors still weren't able to diagnois the bump they had removed. So i've been left to wonder what it really could have been and to just wait and watch.
So that pretty much wraps up July.
Next on the List David's younger brother Darick came home from his mission on the 4th of Aug.(which was a wednesday). He was able to fly into Twin Falls so most of us were able to meet him at the airport. Some of us were late :) but we still made it. Darick gave a wonderful homecoming talk. It even made my "one feeling" father-in-law tear up just little bit. In the 3 day stretch between flight and his talk my sister-in-law Kara got married. Perfect Timing and Crazy timing all at once. Kara had a beautful wedding. But of course to complicate things in that three day time period I decided to get strep, tonsolitis, and an ear infection. :) Luckily I didnt infect anyone else and was able to make it to her sealing and the reception. I did miss out on the endowment session.
During all this craziness Carmilite and Dione came to live with us and work Harvest. Soon after the wedding we added one more and officiall became out numbered. Derick came to live with us too :). The difficulty of cooking for two became easier but at the same time it became harder because cooking for five takes a lot more work. :) I cant imagine how Shirley did it cooking for 9. We had lots of fun having them with us though.Posted by Laci at 2:47 PM 1 comments

Time Out
Well another year of Time Out for Women has come and gone.
It was an amazing weekend, filled with love, friendship, and the spirit of christ. I was really glad to see my favorite two speakers there, Brad Wilcox and Amanda Dickson. Brad talked about being changed by Grace and the Atonement. To me understanding the atonement has always been very complicated, and hard to wrap my mind around all of its concepts. Brad truely understands this concept and is able to help others to understand the deepness of it all. Some of my favorite quotes from him include,"The miracel fo the atonement is not that we can be cleansed but tis that we can be changed and transfored"
"The atonement is to be change" and
"We don't get to heaven on Jesus's coattails, rahter he changes us to fit his coat"
If you've never had the opportunity to hear this man speak, I would sugest buying one of his books or cd's. He is amazing!! :)
Amanda Dickson talked about friendship. She is truely and amazing women. This women is not a memeber of the church, but is so in tuned to the spirit. Some of her quotes include,
"Women gathering is divine and important and the relief socity was truely inspired"
"We have to learn to be better friends to ourselves."
With the theme of BECOME it really helped me to focus my attention on what I want to become throughout the rest of my life. However, the first step is to become me.
B= Bold -- You are a leader in your own way
E= Eternally Minded -- forcus on the things of eternity
C= Creative -- the desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of our soul
O= Outward Focused -- who can we life and nurture on our way
M= Meek --she came, she learned, she loved, and she Served
E= Enlightened -- Help to defend the family, Motivate and Mobilize them to take action
U= Unique -Each one of us has a Unique Mission in life.

A Much Needed Update!!
Oh my goodness its been so long I almost don't know where to begin.
Well, we're moved into our home in Bliss, but sadly still not unpacked. While the work on the house is coming along its still not finished and at this rate I'm starting to think it will never get finished. The inside is almost there, but the outside is a completely different story. The lawn is in desperate need of mowing and reseeding. (Which is hard to do without a lawn mower) We've been trying to find one on Craigs list for a good price and nothing has seemed to be working out. David did get a little creative for the back yard this weekend.
Yep thats right, he brought in the tractor. Hopefully we'll be able to find something soon :).
Farming has been going really good this year. So far nothing is behind which is amazing considereing that hasn't been much sun. I'll have to get out into the field and get some pictures of everything growing. This year we have 20 acres of Melons, 40 in Wheat, and about, 20 in Corn and Pumpkins.
Recently we've had a little mouse problem. In the evenings while on the couch we'd see mice run from our laudry room but could never find where they were heading, until I heard a noise in our lazy susan. Over the corase of a couple of weeks mice (who knows how many) had eaten a bag a marshmellows, started on the powdered sugar, and a bag a peanuts. I have been finding peanuts in random places all throughout our house and I just wondering where I will find them next. Being the Nerd that I am I instantly thought of the movie Ratatouille. Unfortuately the treats that they were leaving were the ones i'd hoped for. David and I were able to corner one mouse, and I killed it with a frying pan. And then yesterday I caught another one and trapped it in a container for david to deal with :). Hopefully this will be the end of our mouse problem.

The Count Down
So the count down is officially on, only 6 more days in Rupert. We officially will be living in Bliss in one week from today. It's kind of a scary but exciting thought at the same time. :) We lived in Rupert for the last 9 months and its been wonderful to live so close to my parents.
The house that we are moving into, has been a lot of work as we try to fix it up. The renters before us completely trashed the place, so we've had to clean, paint and replace many things. While its been very tiring, its been pretty fun an good all around experience. Plenty of pictures will be provided soon :).
